Flying Squirrels in Attics
These small, nocturnal squirrels colonize attics in large numbers — sometimes dozens — before homeowners realize. Often confused with mice based on nighttime sounds. They need only a 1.5-inch gap to enter.
Signs
- Scurrying at night (unlike gray squirrels which are daytime)
- Multiple animals — groups of 10-20+
- Urine staining on ceiling drywall
